Cottage rental

I honestly only have positive things to say about this cottage as it really is perfect in every way. We fell in love with Dunster well over a decade ago and finding The Oval has meant our family returning for countless visits. Lucy and her team are just amazing and make this cottage a real home from home. The kitchen is excellent making preparing meals a real joy. There's a lovely big dining table when you can sit for hours before moving into the living room to relax in front of a real fire. All three bedrooms are spacious with super comfy beds, you won't be able to decide which is your favourite. There's even a beautiful raised decked area at the back of the cottage where you relax with a glass of wine or hot chocolate depending on the weather. The cottage itself is in a great location as you have the beautiful village of Dunster to wonder around as well as countless walks all on the doorstep. There is absolutely no way you won't have a happy, relaxing holiday here.

Amazing service! Found us exactly what we were after for our staycation, there was a refreshing amount of options available considering the short notice, not often seen when we've booked elsewhere.The team gave us a really useful idea of what was in the local area which saved us the researching and bookings but also lovely to have the local advice personalised to you rather than a generic internet search!The house was in pristine condition and it felt more like being a guest at someone's home than renting a generic holiday house. It was a relief not having to worry about whether the dog would be permitted or permitted with certain restrictions, she was accommodated as well as we were!We will certainly be back thank you!

We had such a wonderful stay at Clara’s Cottage. The place was so lovely and it just oozed charm as soon as you walked in, with some local eggs and other goodies already there to welcome us! The beds were super comfy and the fire was so inviting, particularly when coming in from a walk in the cold! The cottage has all you could possibly need in terms of facilities and equipment, whilst being authentic and sympathetic to its original design. Catherine has provided lots of really useful information about local places for food, places to explore within the lovely Yorkshire Wolds and also an interesting history of the cottage. Would definitely recommend Clara’s Cottage to anybody who wants an idyllic break in the Yorkshire Wolds. Catherine has lovingly provided a real ‘home from home’ and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely place

We had the best time here! Lovely welcome with fresh farm eggs :) Judith was unbelievably helpful (even buying a bed guard for our toddler) and was always around to fix any issues. The children loved feeding the chickens and playing in the backyard. Lark Rise is easily big enough for 6 people (and we had a big 4th of July party here too!) Thank you again for an awesome stay, we'll definitely be back!

Great, snug and attractive cottage, well equipped and in perfect shape. Overlooks, at the doorstep almost, an amazing beach with spectacular surf for our visit. Highly recommended.

Fantastic stay over the weekend of our wedding. Plenty of space outside for a large family BBQ and each room is spotless and decorated beautifully.The flowers and welsh cakes were a lovely touch too, will definitely be staying again.

Beautiful on the outside. Beautiful scenery and location. Tired on the inside but mostly in keeping with old farmers cottage. Appreciated open fire.

Enjoyed Christmas here with our two dogs. Accommodation was clean and enjoyable just what we needed for our break.Would definitely book again at anytime of the year.

Spent a week at the fabulous Scott Cottage at Loch Katrine. It was such a comfortable and cosy place we didn't want to leave. The furnishings are to a very high standard, spacious bedrooms and best equipped kitchen I have ever experienced. The warm log fire just finished off that homely feel. Its situated right on edge of the beautiful Loch and was a fantastic location to experience all that the area has to offer. The booking process was very informative and we were afforded some very helpful local advice before our arrival. (Thank you Alex!) It has an excellent little café at the pier which serves great coffee/cakes and fantastic selection of food and I'd highly recommend this cottage to anyone. Cant wait to go back!!
