Honestly, my experience has been the same of all of these damning reviews. Simply not fit for purpose and given the power that vests in the CoP that is something everyone should be fearful of.

Cannot speak to anyone for love or money. Adds to the stress of a stressful situation. Only reply will be by pigeon post...talk about dark ages. Honestly, starting to feel they could do all the work for me once granted now!

Absolutely useless , and rude my mother’s financial affairs need protecting from you rather than her family . Corruption at it best .

A solicitor told us to not even bother applying for a deputyship order as this organisation treats deputies and vulnerable people so appallingly. Their disgraceful mishandling of child trust fund cases also demonstrates that the system is unfit for purpose.

This is a Government department which is not fit for purpose.If I could , I would rate Zero stars.I applied a year ago to Discharge Deputyship, due to setting up appointeeship for my disabled brother.This gives me the authority I need without the hassle of Office of Public Guardianship financial reports.The COP have lost paperwork,no reply to emails , no answer to phone calls.My advise is to find alternative POA/Appointeeship because this department is utterly inefficient & incapable.

I can only mirror the reviews here. This body can protect nobody effectively at all. It is clearly massively underfunded and should not be allowed to preside over important family decisions. There is no ability to contact anyone by phone or email any more .. It was fractionally better a few years ago and there are constant errors in the court orders leaving families unable to protect their health and finances. Nobody should be left in this body's care until it is properly resourced.

Almost 3 years (and still counting) waiting for this failed organization to grant a deputyship. Truly shocking - they need rebuilding from the ground up because this just isn't a functional institution.

Absolute waste of time, money and effort. I applied in June 2022 and 14 months later I was still waiting for deputyship for my father with Alzheimer's. It is impossible to get through by phone, it just cuts off after 20 mins waiting and no proper response by email, just automated. My father has now sadly passed away, so at least I won't have to deal with this incompetent department again. Please take heed and make sure your loved ones appoint a Power of Attorney so you never have to endure what my family and the other reviewers have had to endure

Where do we go to complain about this court. Absolutely awful service. Meanwhile the bills pile up for my aunts care. This morning we have received an obscurely worded letter from the COP Not sure what they want but will try and comply
